A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!!

It's been two months since my last post!  Yikes!  Sophie is running around like crazy, it's all I can do to keep up with her.  I have a ton of pictures on my iPhone.  I get a lot of my ideas about what to write about from my phone!  That sounds crazy, I know.  But, when I sit down to look through my photos, and choose which ones to upload and publish, the last two months come rushing back to me.  Here's my story, as told by my library of iPhone photos...

Sophie would spend every waking hour outside if we let her.  This girl LOVES the outdoors.  Sophie believes that if our door is opening to the outside, she had better be going through it!  Lots of tears have resulted from being let down.  Needless to say, she loves swimming as well. She cooperates in wearing a hat and sunglasses 90% of the time!

Sunglasses indoors too!  A visit to Mommy at work

Having fun at the splash pad at Universal Studios

Anything to be outside!  She can't quite reach the pedals yet, but her feet recently started dragging on the ground.  I've resorted to rolling up a towel underneath her bottom to give her a little boost!  Since she is a collector of "things", we pick up every rock and wood chip along the way.

Another pool date with our friend Sloane.  Such bathing beauties!

The best part about the park, playing in the only puddle there!

First day of facing forward in the car seat.  Still trying to figure it all out in this one.

That's better

Grandma and Grandpa Swartz came for a visit.  The first thing Grandpa did was buy Sophie a bunch of shoes!!  "Shoes" just so happens to be one of her favorite words at this time.  She is also infatuated in putting other peoples shoes on

Wearing Grandpa's hat.  "Hat" is another word that gets a lot of use these days.  She drops the "h" and calls it, "At!"

Grandma and Grandpa also took us to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch.  We saw gorillas  elephants, monkeys and even sat through an indoor tropical storm!  Sophie loved every bit of it.  Especially the monkeys, she says "Ooooh oooh aaahh ahhhh" just like a monkey.

A day at Cocoa Beach with Grandma, Grandpa, Mommy and of course Daddy

She has to wear water shoes since the last time we went to the beach she refused to put her bare feet in the sand.  These worked like a charm.  Even though she is only ankle deep in water here, whenever a wave would wash up, she would get wobbly, as if it were going to knock her down.  It was a bit humorous. She loved being in the water!

Pool date with Ella and Lexie

So much fun in the pool!

Splash pad fun with our friend Sloane.  These two were having so much fun!

Best buds

Trying to figure out this fountain thing

Fun family day at Animal Kingdom lodge looking at the animals

Playing in the dirt!  This same day, a few hours earlier, I caught her playing in a plant in the house, dumping the dirt out on the floor.  I figured she deserved some supervised, mommy-approved dirt play....

"If my "roar" doesn't scare you, maybe this thing on my head will!"

She is a silly girl!  She has my hat on backwards and a toy on top of that!

Shout out to Aunt Linda!  We got a cuuuute outfit in the mail from her that was knitted by a lady she knows.  The money went towards a charitable cause.  Sophie is checking out her new hat here!

Sophie loves reading these days!  Every nap and nighttime sleep is preceded by reading some books.  She has a fit if you don't read a book to her.  She gets really excited, however, when you pull books out for the occasion.  She has even started bringing me books to read during playtime!

Playing "Nurse"!  She is holding a toy syringe in her hands. She loves giving me shots!

Nakey Bums!  With a little light reading on the side :)

Such a sweet face!  One of her many new pairs of pajamas.  I've resorted to buying pajamas with shorts since I can't seem to keep up with her quickly growing legs! That and the fact that it's 90-something degrees here everyday

See the baby lizard on her arm?  She liked it much better when it was in the cup!

A shout out to Aunt Regina. The PURPLE shirt says, "I wanna grow up to be a Puma".  It's a Saint Joe thing

We bought a potty!
We LOVE our new potty!
What do you do when it's 100 degrees outside?  Play in Toys R Us of course!  This kid spent an hour taking things off shelves and bringing them to me
Sleepy beach baby.  She slept like this for a good while, as Grandpa held an umbrella over her.

We have been making daily visits to the park before it gets too hot outside. We get there about ten minutes before the day camp kids show up.  Sophie loves watching the other kids play.  She is so inquisitive!

7/11 means free Slurpee day at 7-eleven!!  Sophie's first Slurpee and no complaint of brain freeze! Of course she shared it with her Mommy :)

Sophie taking Sloane for a ride!

Such a big girl!  15 month stats: 31 3/4 inches tall,   21 pounds 3.5 ounces, she's tall and skinny!

"Cheese!"  This is the face I get when I ask her to "cheese" for the camera.  She loves to say the word, and loves the food even more!  We have two cheese mongers in this house. (The other one is our hairy, four legged child)

A lovely video of our daughter working out before bed time!  Dan put a pull up bar on one of our door frames.  As soon as Sophie figured out what it was for, she cried every time she passed it so she could be lifted up for some baby pull ups!
The last video is of a little friend we found in the house.  Sophie insisted on holding the cup so I took her outside.  At one point she holds the cup to the side of her head, "hugging" the lizard.  The end of the video that was cut off due to size, she attempts to drink the lizard out of the cup.  From the picture listed previously in this post, you can tell she had more fun with this cute little guy while he was inside the cup!  She has a fondness for lizards of all sizes, however.  When she first started noticing them, I would point it out to her, and start whispering to her about it, as though to try and keep her quiet so she wouldn't scare it away.  Now, when we go out looking for them, and she spots one, she points and starts whispering some sort of gibberish  telling me all about them.  It's so sweet!

Ahhh, all done!  That took me about a week to write, edit and publish!  Hope to get it more streamlined next time...

Love
The Family York
