Our house is expanding! After a few years of debating the size of our house and the need for more room, we have decided to stay put and add some square footage onto our cute little home. Our little abode was built in 1940 and is currently 1100 square feet. We have three bedrooms and one (small) bathroom. We will be adding on a master bedroom and master bathroom, a living room, a laundry room, and an office/playroom/small bedroom. That's another 800 square feet! We are sooo excited to finally be getting this underway. The plans have been in the works for a few years. We found some contractors and signed a contract with our favorite one in November. They tore out our deck in the beginning of December then we hit a little lull in the project with the City asking for a landscape plan. As of the second week in January, the guys got back to work on our project.
Prior to demo
I have been telling my friends at work that we are adding on to our house, so they are always asking about the progress of our project. Well, the day they started I was telling my friends, "I really hope that someone at least comes over and digs a hole or something in my yard." Needless to say, I got what I asked for!

The holes they dug were for the foundation. They put some rebar in the bottom of them, sprayed them for bugs and awaited an inspection from the city.
We have a great boss to be sure the guys keep on task!
Their holes passed inspection and they came to fill them with concrete!
So, now we wait for the concrete to dry....
