Well, the house expansion is moving along quickly! My most favorite part that happened so far is that they moved my washer and drying inside. YAY!! It is currently right outside my back door (which eventually will not be there anymore), but it is sooooo convenient! It's much better than having to walk out my front door around the back and into the garage. Not to mention, the garage is dirty! I actually told our contractor that I loved him for moving these inside. It's the little things...
The picture below shows the new old opening to our garage. This was the original door to the garage to access it from the back yard. I think the washer and dryer used to be in the garage at that time. When they built a small deck outside of the back door, they put a closet there, covered up this door and put the washer and dryer in it. So we covered up the new door and reinvented the old door. The original poured concrete steps are still there going into the garage!

Our back yard was very overgrown! It provided great privacy though. As we moved our house further into the backyard, we decided not to waste all that precious land. Dan hired one of our construction crew to cut down the big stuff and we have slowly revealed more of our backyard! We thought that we would be eating up a lot of the space back there with the extension, but now that we have cleared it out, we have a big backyard again! Next week will be new fencing to give us our privacy back.

We have a new porch on the back of the house! Complete with an overhang and soon to be topped off with a lovely, cooling fan. If you look closely at the next few pictures, you can see it wraps around the side of the house. I have a "wrap-around" porch!!! There is no actual flooring on the deck yet, but they have put some temporary plywood down. I go out there and put a chair out and enjoy the scenery. Even though it's still a work in progress, the weather is beautiful and its a serene place to relax already.
Next up on the expansion: New siding, back doors, new fence, and a finished deck. Wow! These guys are amazing!
