Here is my long overdue Halloween post!! Grandma's Ariel costume creation was a huge success!! We had a great time trick or treating with our friends the Althouses. Sloane and Sophie were so adorable! Grant took a nap in the baby sling with all the shenanigans going on around him.

A fun Halloween outfit. Those leggings didn't fit after a few weeks...

Awesome Ariel!
Grandma did such a great job with Sophie's costume, we thought she needed a sidekick. So we got to work creating a costume for Grant. Flounder is Ariel's fish friend. Grandma made Grant a Flounder onesie and sent some beanie babies for accessories. Unfortunately, our little Flounder grew faster than anyone could have imagined, and the costume was a bit too small when Halloween rolled around. What was once a long-sleeved onesie, became short sleeved with a small slit down the back just so I could get a few pictures.

I couldn't even snap the bottom!!

Tolerant for one second
I ended up sending out a "May Day" to Dan for a pair of scissors STAT after I snapped those pictures. Grant started crying and I desperately struggled to get him out of the constricting onesie. I ended up cutting him out of it!! I have kept the fragments of the costume as a remembrance (ok, as a reminder to not put items on your kid just for pictures sake).

He was having a great time!!

A few costume changes this year. Beautiful Belle
Grandma came back to visit/babysit in early November. Dan and I had a gala to go to for the Universal Foundation and a wedding the next day. Aunt Linda was the brave volunteer who came to help Grandma this time.

The Perfect Gentleman (let's be honest, not always...)
Grant was a bit grumpy between 2 and 3 months. We just couldn't figure him out. He wouldn't eat much when I breastfed him and wouldn't nap for very long either. I suppose he couldn't nap long because his belly wasn't full enough from not taking the time to breastfeed. Then the cycle would just continue over and over again. I started back to work on December 1st when he was 14 weeks old. We took him to Lana's which is where Sophie went until she started "school" at the Methodist Church. Lana was amazing with him and I could tell he liked her right from the beginning. It's so nice to have someone like Lana, someone you can trust and know your child is being loved and cared for as her own. He started being a little more pleasant after he started going to Lana's. She was of course feeding him from a bottle, and he was taking long naps! At that point, I figured we would do the same. So I began pumping my breastmilk just to put it in a bottle. This little man proved to be a bit lazy and gluttonous. He didn't want to work too hard for his food and he wanted a lot of it and wanted it now! Typical.... Things have been going a bit better with him now that we're feeding him from a bottle. He is still bad at napping and sleeping at night. What I wouldn't give for a 5 hour stretch of sleep!!
